Tabor
Divine Retreat Ashram
Tabor Ashram is a retreat and
prayer center under the Mary Matha
Province of the Vincentian
Congregation, doing the ministry of evangelization to spread the Kingdom
of God. Though this center is run
by the Priests of the Vincentian Congregation with the help of Rev. Sisters
from different Religious Congregations and the lay people, the ministries
conducted here are for all people irrespective of cast, creed and religion.
Tabor Ashram is the branch
of Potta
Retreat Center.
In 1992, Mr. C. C Antony donated three acres of land at Kamba
village for Gospel Ministry. Tabor Divine Retreat Ashram was inaugurated on
October 7, 1993 as a retreat and prayer
center under the Mary Matha Province
of the Vincentian Congregation for doing the ministry
of evangelisation to spread the Kingdom
of God. Fr. Antony
Kolenchery was the Director of this center at the
beginning and Fr. John Kodiankunnel was the Finance
Officer. Residential retreat from Sunday to Thursday, special services on
all first Fridays, healing services and preaching the Word of God on all Saturdays
and Sundays were the ministries in the Ashram at the beginning. In 1996, Fr.
Mathew Elavumkal, the then Director of Potta
Ashram was appointed as the Director of Tabor Ashram and Fr. Martin Kalamparambil became the Assistant Director when Fr. Antony and Fr. John were transferred. Three years later Fr.
Johnson Ethemkuzhiyil joined as the Finance Officer.
Rev. Sisters from different Religious Congregations and lay people from various
linguistic groups form part of the team.
People from different walks
of life irrespective of caste, creed and religion participate in the prayer
services of Tabor Ashram, abandon their sinful ways and embrace Lord Jesus as
their personal Lord and saviour. Several miracles
including healing from fatal diseases are taking place when people attend the
prayer services in Tabor Ashram.
Tabor Ashram
publishes a bi-monthly called Tabor Voice in Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam.
How to reach Tabor Ashram?
Tabor Divine Retreat Ashram is situated at Kamba
Village by the side of the Kalyan –
Murbad Road (State
Highway), about 8 kms. From Kalyan Railway
Station, S. T. Bus Depot and KDMC (Kalyan Dombivili Municipal Corporation) bus
stop. If you travel by bus from the Railway Station or Bus Depot, you can get
down at the gate of Tabor Ashram. You can also hire auto-rickshaw from the same
place to Tabor Ashram for which you may have to give Rs. 40/-. Shared
auto-rickshaw services are also available.
From the International

If you come by flight to the International
Airport, which is 66 kms away from
Tabor Ashram, you will get taxi from the Airport. Route: Sakinaka – Powai – Nasik
National Highway – Kalyan Bye pass – Birla gate
Shahad – Kamba – Tabor Ashram.
From the Domestic

If you come by flight to the Domestic
Airport, which is 70 Kms. away from
Tabor Ashram, you will get Taxi from the Airport. Route: Sahar Cargo
Complex Road – Sakinaka – Powai – Nasik
